Fermin Lopez (transfer rumour)

Mayendas best marra and MLF

“That’s why I say it’s a good experience for me because I can learn from these players and especially from Fermin. I have a good relationship with him. Sometimes he sends me messages after watching Sunderland.”

Quality player but zero chance like.
Sounds like he's desperate to join the red and white wizards to me.

I don't think most people have any trouble believing we would spend £80m, though it is a lot in January after our summer spending. It's more that £80m got us Xhaka, Sadiki, Mukiele, Alderete, Roefs, Traore and change in the summer. You'd fancy the DOF to find 2/3 players for £80m that would have a bigger impact combined than a single player.
I cant see him coming, but if he did then along with Xhaka it could be pivotal to keeping some of our players for years to come, and them actually buying into the idea of us challenging for Europe consistently

Can't see it hapening but great to see us linked with these type of players, if we were to somehow sign him then it isn't what 80 million Euro's/about 70 million pounds upfront. Maybe half that offered then the rest in installments. It would be up there as a Xhaka statement signing if we did pull it off. After our last window we were able to attract players who have played in the champs league so no reason why we can't pull off more signings like that with our popular contacts within the club.

Andy has linked we’ve bid 80 mil for him

Ambitious Project Phase 2: European Titles aka The Ambitious Vision??

Sunderland have identified Fermín López as a player capable of making a difference from day one. Their intention is clear: to make him the linchpin of the team and give him a leading role both on and off the pitch .

The €80 million
investment reflects an ambitious vision. The English club wants to accelerate its growth, establish itself among the elite, and compete for European titles with a young but already proven player.

Sounds like KLD knows he can squeeze Barca financially given their front office shambles and our spending power.

We've come a long way, boys.

I've seen Wolves, West Ham and even fkn Bournemouth spend nearly £50 mill on one player in the last few years. It's definitely something that could happen to us sooner or later.

Think Palace have overtaken us now with Brennan Johnson

So you believe this rumour is true?

Wouldn't have believed we'd spend 200 mil in the Summer.

Could use with a bit more attacking prowess out of midfield. Pair him up with Amad and we're off to the races.

(I would not bet a single penny on this happening but will chose to entertain the fantasy for now!)

EDIT: The more I think about this - it would be a snip at 80 mil.

Get him signed, SpeakFLo.

It's not the money for me, I absolutely think we could do it, especially now we've all but guaranteed survival and another year on the gravy train. €80m amortised over 5 years is €16m, say £14m, plus £5m yearly wages, £19m. It's not that crazy. It's less than half of what we added onto our costs in the summer window, and he's a superstar, still not in his prime.

It's just whether we could sell the dream to him.
