I love Sunderland to death but whenever people do a post like this I’ve always thought Jesus Christ we’ve hardly ever had any good or great players lol

Jim Baxter, by all accounts, was a shadow of his younger self at Rangers, apparently he'd started to spiral into alcoholism and being a protestant scot, was a bad influence and presence in a dressing room captained by an irish catholic (Hurley)Montgomery
Brown Watson Hurley Gray
Hughes Todd Rowell Tueart
Clough Baxter
Sorensen
Thome Evans

w good was he when he was at Roker? I'm way way to young to have seen him play at Sunderland but I've seen footage of him for Rangers & Scotland and he looked incredible
He as lightening fast, and really strong. Love how players used to bounce of him.All about opinions mate. I met Don Goodman when I was 15 and he was a top bloke. Probably my all time favourite Sunderland player![]()
One of my favourite all time players. Mind, I think a lot of nostalgia involved in this, as many players named will be boyhood heroes.Surprised someone hasn't listed Gary Rowell as all 11. Still time like
I would have paid my money just to watch Frank Worthington - what a skilful player he was.Favourite XI: Monty - Dick - Joe B - Jeff Clarke - Shaun Elliot - Bobby Kerr - Bracewell - Arnott - Frank W - G.Rowell - Pop. For never to be forgotten displays, moments of class & the memories. Benno can be the sub cos in my time there was only one.
