F1 2026

I’m actually planning on trying to get into that soon, never had the balls for a bike tbh always found them terrifying 🤣 have been watching more WEC and Indycar recently as well.
Ridden bikes all my life and done a bit of very low level racing. I was rubbish.

But the racing in MotoGP is epic. And this year there is a great battle between Aprilia and Ducati.

Recommended mate.

Wording of that announcement is very deliberate. All they’ve said is it won’t take place in April. Not sure if it’s contractual or what but it doesn’t rule out those races being run later in the year

Surprised no replacements

It’s going to be very difficult to rearrange stuff like this.

The teams plan movements months in advance and tv scheduling of other motorsports could be impacted.

It’s a bloody complicated affair involving ships and planes and a whole host of other factors.

Who is out of pocket though? F1 owned by a middle east person? So i take it their out of pocket? Just in covid their could arrange many races in short time.. Five week gap... You could add two other races in Europe.. for example before break in summer and back to back. Like another example i am sure China must have another track their could of hosted another race.. I am sure their would of loved to.

I just think circuits might be booked up for other motorsport etc.

It’s probably much more complicated than we mere mortals understand.

And I’m sure money has a huge say in these matters.

But one bit of good comes out of it @WashFTM daughter gets her pets back!

Yay!

I just think a country like China could easy host another race... Even as a filler as the five week gap going to feel a age.

We would see the teams development if nothing else. These lads and lasses are on the cutting edge of engineering. Shaving 100ths at a time. All adds up.

Its going to hard for anyone to beat Mercedes in this current state. Even a compromised Russell could stick it onto the front row with ease.

I would say the Ferrari strategy will be key but we all know that will be non existent.

All they can hope for is a Mercedes DNF and they can fight for the scraps. Interesting to see if Hamilton gets any preference to strategy this time round as he qualified p1 for the team.

With Russell issues in qualifying i am not sure he will finish the race... But ant will be of in distance after being behind maybe Hamilton of line... Ferrari start is the only thing keeping things interesting

Lewis is poised to be in the lead at the first corner but the Mercedes should just block the track and their overall race pace will win.

Yeah and mercs and other teams are already moaning and want Ferrari starts to be diminished to not course a crash.. So their will have five weeks to try force a rule change....

The cancellation of two GPS will lose 100 million Pounds in revenue but I’m unable to ascertain who loses this vast sum of money.

Cannot have an assisted or manufactured start in my view. Takes something away from it.

Ferrari are not doing anything wrong here. Its the other teams that need to pull their finger out.

Ha'way Lewis lad!

Bahrain pays around £45m to host it so I’m guessing Saudi pay the same amount to Liberty too, so depending on the contract and clauses it’s either the countries or Liberty. Then it depends on the agreements the teams have as I suspect the loss is somewhat passed to them if it’s Liberty who face it. Add in sponsorships for both races it’ll be easily over £100m, small amounts to the money they’ll be losing on oil and stuff but it’s certainly not what those countries expect from the sports washing their thought they were getting.
