F1 2026

The amount of time it’s taking to move this car is an absolute joke.
Just watching it now, and thinking the same - shocking. 1 bloke and a truck looking completely uninterested in getting it sorted.

Only thing slower was Leclerc's restart

But its been a canny sprint. The tyres should make for a good race tomorrow too.

Bar something extraordinary, champion already.
2 middle east fixtures that have been cancelled will have some say imo.

Will he have the championship sewn up before they are forced to change the engine in the summer?
I really enjoyed the sprint and qualifying for the race.

Great to see Lewis running at the front but that Merc does look to have an edge over the rest of the field.

Max off the pace might hasten his departure from F1.

My prediction for the race - George to win it.
No big miss for me.

Very much all about the cars so far (more than usual) if you look at them from front to back of grid almost all teammates next to each other with the odd outlier, despite that do think Russell has it in him to be a worthy champion but think there’s plenty left to give in that Mercedes they are hiding to not allow field to catch up, hope Antonelli can have a clean race tomorrow to see what he’s capable of, he’s undoubtedly quick but needs to tidy up for it to be interesting over the course of the season, Russell wins championship comfortably imo but would be nice to go weekend by weekend without having a good idea of result beforehand

Good start to the season for Bearman
Hasn’t it been about the cars for years? Just RB normally make the car so suited for Max his teammate has been dreadful. Last year it was McLaren who had the best car and both drivers would have ran away with it if they didn’t make mistakes, red bull had the best car suited to max so they won then merc before them. It’s not like any top driver has ever dropped to a crap car and done well really.

Yes that’s why I added the more than usual, other than a small group in the midfield where Gasly and Bearman seem to be comfortably out performing Colapinto and Ocon so far each teams drivers have been side by side most sessions this year til now, expect as teams get to grip over the cycle of this regulation it will change up a bit but as it stands the field spread is massive and it’s not just from top team to bottom but between the majority of teams in the pecking order

If the compression ratio change does have an impact those 2 cancelled raced ill have a massive impact. After tomorrow there are now only 3 races before the engine rule change
Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking about.

Next question is whether its just the engine cheat that's responsible for the gap?

I've been trying to work out if its just old fashioned straight line speed or more a whole Engine/Aero package.

The gap to McLaren would suggest its more than just the engine but they haven't been fully able to tune it until this week. Wonder if they can get the 18/1 compression at race temp that Merc have been getting.

Will be interesting to keep an eye on. Piastri has come out of the blocks fast.

I've always been a big fan of Pierre Gasly and rooted for him ever since he got shat on from a height by Horner/Red Bull. Talented, and seems a really nice guy too.

I think he's been the most underrated driver on the grid the past couple of years, dragging that dog of an Alpine into places it shouldn't have been.

Great to see that now he has a decent engine behind him he can be fighting for points regularly.

Nice to see Lewis outqualify Leclerc under equal conditions - tells you that raw pace might just still be there after all.

George recovering from that technical issue to grab 2nd was pretty impressive too. But I think those 2 Reds will shoot off the line and lead the race - so at least the first 10 laps should be really interesting. If they fancy pushing things, they can start on the hard tyres as they have *such* an advantage off the line, then they can possibly exploit how bad the mediums looked in the sprint race after only 10 laps.

Good shout Re the hards.

I think Ferrari have a good package once you take Mercs cheat code out. Good thing for McLaren is that they are there or there abouts without fully 'utilising' the engine. So when the new test comes out, they will be up there too.

Just have to hang on to Merc's coat tails until then. Scary thing might be, insiders reckon they have got the engine turned down anarl. So they still might be be 3 tenths up come summer testing.

Got to hand it to them mind. Looks stunning to drive. Easily the best looking car as well. Toto will be fuming that someone has left the cat out of the bag. How else has this engine trick been found out? There's a rat somewhere in his ship.

I’d say it’s been pretty much the usual for the last 10/15 years though. Most F1 fans won’t know anything but the 2 by 2 formations. Take any year and I bet most could tell you the top 6 and bottom 6 a the remaining 4 meh teams just plod around fighting for 10th that sky try and make exciting.

The new season confirms the long known fact that even the best drivers cannot win without a superb car.

Last year it was McLaren and it looks like this year it will be Mercedes.

Let’s hope Ferrari and Mercedes sort their performance issues out and challenge Mercedes. A six way title fight would be superb.
Whose getting up for the race tomorrow.

7am start and the start might be a bit spicy with those fast starting Ferraris.

I was Toto I’d tell George and Kimi to accelerate away together and stay side by side up to turn one to effectively block the track. If one or other Mercedes goes into the lead that opens to door for a Ferrari to blast past.

I’d love Lewis to win this but I think George will.

Get ya sell onto MotoGP.

Cracking racing this season with an improving Aprillia and a still vey quick Ducati.

And an appalling Yamaha 🥴
I’m actually planning on trying to get into that soon, never had the balls for a bike tbh always found them terrifying 🤣 have been watching more WEC and Indycar recently as well.
