Vibrations? Safety issue? You must be logged on to see media itemsSurely that’s a safety issue and they can’t be allowed to race
Given it looks like they will barely run this weekend they needed this press conference to address it. But the way he's gone about it is shocking, even if it all Hondas fault (it won't be) you don't air out these issues publicly. Simply say that due to a shortage of parts and reliability issues running will be limited. I hope Honda get this fix soon so it's obvious the car isn't very goodI think it's totally inappropriate and probably not accurate to sit there with the Honda boss and tell everyone it's squarely their fault. The arrogance and deliberate humiliation of a Japanese company is extremely poor form. Imagine working with business partners like that. By all accounts he is entirely complicit in this shambles, possibly even the root cause.
Anyone heard who might be doing the other concerts at Silverstone this year apart from David Guetta?
I have just registered for it, £50 a ticket.

Will be a good nightIve just done the same![]()
50 quid a ticket can’t say no imo. Also it lets most of the crowd leave after the race so it’ll be easier to get away from the track. Will be a good night

He'll have a face like a horses cunt. But how will anyone tell the difference from normal? So Aston will definitely not complete the race on Sunday, I bet Lawrence didn't envisage this after spending all the money on Newey and all the new facilities.
The arrogance of the man to come out and claim that the chassis is the "5th best" despite not even stringing a single decent stint together, and laying the blame squarely at Honda's feet is shocking.Given it looks like they will barely run this weekend they needed this press conference to address it. Even Horner, who I don’t like, looked like a leader. The arrogance of the man to come out and claim that the chassis is the "5th best" despite not even stringing a single decent stint together, and laying the blame squarely at Honda's feet is shocking.
Never really seen him speak much publicly, but as a leader of a team he doesn't seem cut out for it personality wise. Night and day different from a Wolff/Vasseur/Brown/Wheatley sort of character.
Hope they lob a few at Verstappens tyres
"I think there's no point being open and honest in this meeting of our expectations"Exactly.
Wow just watched this and read the comments on here.

I completely agree with everything you say and feel much the same, before the interview i’d read a few books on the incident and read his book and wasnt impressed by his narrative on the whole event, but its not just him I guess if he accepts anything to do with the steering column being botched then its him, Patrick Head, Frank and the whole team in quite the quagmire !I used to respect Newey very much until that High Performance Podcast with Jake Humphrey last year when he sat there slumped in his pink shirt, all dewey eyed, and cynically describes not how he feels any responsibility for it, but vaguely that "you wonder what part did I personally play... but I don't think we'll ever 100% know" without actually taking any responsibility. Only "you wonder if you should".
He states "none of the data points to the steering column being a problem" and that simply isn't true. We have all seen the documentary analysis of the on board where the yellow button on the steering wheel drastically leaves its arc and disappears into the cockpit before Senna looks down and left and the video cuts out. He then says "you can speculate it was a slow puncture" which I don't often hear speculated that often. And says categorically that he the car snapped sideways mid-corner, which neither the onboard or trackside cameras show any evidence of.
He does discuss his car being aerodynamically unstable. But it's almost like he says he "has to" carry the responsibility, and then suggests several theories as to why he shouldn't.
The likelihood very much is that the steering column broke. But he can never admit that because of the manslaughter case in Italy, I suppose.
