F1 2026

Need to decide which ones I fancy going to this year! Bring it. Vroom Vroom!

Great OP their @PTR !
I thought if I was being cheeky and claiming the 1st post, I should at least put *some* effort into it

By the way, vital information on Lance Stroll

Stroll is hopeless! Guess it's good his dad has some kind of say in that team 😂

And that means we have no idea what Alonso's pace is really like. Is being a little bit better than Stroll good, bad, horrific? Who knows. There's just no benchmark.
I think Stroll is probably terrible and way off the pace. Suppose Aston have test drivers to compare to, but that's not really enough.

Give me a PM if you need any advice with out mate. @errant went in 2023 and helped me out massively for when I went.
credit where credit is due, was @HoxtonMackem who put me onto Budapest back in 2022...

agree with what everyone has said & would recommend visiting - we had a great time there back in 2023 (when Lewis took Pole the entire circuit went up - well other than the red bull stand!). getting to the circuit was ok, getting back not so...

Most unpredictable season for years, which is great news for the sport.

If I were a betting man I'd stick a tenner on George Russell. He was on sensational form this past couple of years. Judging by how much they closed the gap and got close to fighting near the top, Mercedes seem to have finally sorted out their balls-up with the wind tunnel calibration from 2022. And if the rumours are to be believed they're going to have the best power unit next year.

Stroll being the worst of the bunch just shows how slick and professional the sport has become.

In the past the backmarkers were often of a very poor standard indeed!

It’s a fair point, probably worst driver to stick on grid for so long consecutively though I’d say off top of my head

As above, I done Budapest and Zandvoort this year and all in each were about a grand for 3 nights. Think they’re the cheapest on the calendar.

Budapest - had a mint time, would definitely go back. Track is a metro then a train away from the city, bit of a nightmare getting home afterwards due to crowds but nothing unexpected. Would recommend, I even got on the track after the race for the podium.

Zandvoort - about half an hour away on the train from Amsterdam, trains running every 10 minutes from central station. It’s a coastal town (I compared it to Whitby at the time on this years thread) so the place itself I wouldn’t say there’s much there. I think Dutch people are great craic but not sure I’d go back there tbh. Was a pretty cool experience being in the arena grandstands though.

Just posted above about them but didn’t see your reply 😂
Is it a must to get grandstand seats? I’ve not been due to the prices, tho did consider if the ‘general admission’ tickets some circuits do are worth it if you can’t even see the race!

We did spend a few nights in Abu Dhabi years back and spent the evening at Yas Marina. Rode bikes round the circuit and went to the incredible open roof bar at the top of the hotel in the middle. Well worth it if yer in UAE ever.

Not at all. Some tracks GA are good and some are bad, me personally I would always choose a grandstand but it depends on what you’re after I suppose. I’d have a look into each track and see what they’re like, but imo I’d rather pay a bit extra for a guaranteed seat/stand.

Yeah, varies massively from track to track. I was at Monza this year and the views from my grandstand seat were great. Supposed to be about the worst track on the calendar for GA though. The whole place is flat as a pancake so there's zero banks/elevation to stand on to get a view, plus most of the GA areas are just on the straights where cars just blast by at 220 mph, so you barely see them.

Spa looks to be a great one for GA, especially if you've got a camper van. Got a mate who does that every year and loves it.

Regardless of which track you pick though, if you're going GA be prepared to get to the track at stupid o'clock in the morning to get in the inevitable bun fight to stake out a decent spot. It'll be a very long day!

This ^^^^ (based on what I've seen at Silverstone & the Hungaroring).

Loads of stories suggesting merc and red bull have found a way to legally increase their engine compression ratio.

Yeah, this is when f1 is most fun really. Seeing who can find genius.
Then it all gets stamped out, of course

I'd read that, down to the materials expanding with heat creating the differences... presume that fact it's in the press suggests they've been rumbled even before it ran in anger. FIA were only testing at ambient temperature.

They will all be fiddling with the aero, especially Adrian.

Expect many protests, but I agree those “Brawn” moments really shake F1.

I love it when a team comes up with something like The Fan Car or the Tyrell 6 wheeler.

Crazy stuff!
