F1 2019

Utter shite yet again. The powers that be have gambled with tweaks to the regs and it hasn't worked.
What regs are you referring to? Almost nothing has changed this year. Just minor wing changes to allow cars to follow more closely, which seems to be working

Wing and barge board changes which everyone was raving would impact on things. Sky and Channel 4 literally creaming themselves about it saying it would make for a less predictable season pre Melbourne iirc.

No they didn't? At least, not what I saw.

It was a change to allow cars to follow more closely, which would lead to more overtaking - which seems to be happening so far.
It was never about changing who the fastest car would be.

There was always the chance that some cars would do a bad job of the new wings, but the front runners seem to be fine with it.

in the past ferrari have been closer to merc round the streets of baku, than some other circuits - vettel bottled it in '17 behind hamilton & should have won imho... think if leclerc gets some luck he'll bring everything together over the weekend to have enough to finish in front of the mercs - he goes will in baku having won there in f2 [days after his old man passed away]...

shaping up for the racing gods will give him his maiden victory on these streets...

It's not just the car, it's the entire management system. Merc are consistently better across the board.

This. I honestly reckon if they sorted that he would jump ship before he retires to give it a crack. Could see him winning the next 2 in a merc to equal Schumacher then moving to Ferrari for the new Regs in 2021 and giving it one or 2 years to try and get to 8 in a Ferrari.

10/3 for him to win

I felt a bit sorry for Arrivabene. Shafted by internal politics when he helped get the team into a position where they had arguably the best car and as good a pit crew around the drivers as anyone. Let down big time by Vettel last year.

Williams really can't catch a break.

Fuck sake, the lorry driver then drove into a bridge, and the crane arm is pissing oil all over the williams car!

Azerbaijan GP, Practice One: Drain cover drama stops F1 session
Laughable stuff. Lucky it wasn't more serious tbf.
Imagine it happening in the race

Bit unfair that the regs now mean that they can't run until FP3.
Shirley they could lodge some sort of complaint & have it backed by the other teams.

That's another Williams smashed to bits then.
Kubica this time Ouch.
At least he's jumped out of the car - suppose its a fairly slow part of the track.

Q2 could be an hour away now though - they'll have to do a ton of work to fix that barrier.

Hulk out on Q1 then. Ouch. Danny Ric got very lucky!

Balls, this is going to clash with the match now

I still don't understand why drivers in the top 10 have to start on the tyres they set their best time on in Q2. Has minimal impact up top, and only ever seems to punish the upper midfield teams who regularly qualify between 7th-10th.
