Ex-Academy thread

mumba wasnt sold for peanuts..i doubt his transfer value is much higher now than it was then..he flopped at his next club and is doing nowt much now at a poor club. There are more egregious examples I'm sure, or at least will emerge as such in the coming years if any of the players sold then make dceent careers for themselves.
Suppose it depends on what you think is peanuts like but the doubt his value is higher is comical. He literally moved on for a minimum of 3 times what we sold him for. Since then he has become a regular at championship level so I would guess his value is even higher now.

Go on then explain how Sunderland selling him for 350k wasnt peanuts but Norwich selling him for a 1m (it also wasn’t a few months ago by the way) is peanuts. Interested in how you are going to work your way round this answer seen as both those statements about peanuts are your own words

source on the £350k?

source on the £350k?
Ok I will find a couple. Of course we know it won’t be official so it’s pointless coming back with that when I post them, we can take it as reported as assume it’s pretty accurate. In the mean time while I look, what do you think Sunderland sold him for that means “Mumba wasn’t sold for peanuts” seeing as you think Norwich selling him for a million is peanuts

There is

They were clearly get fed info at the time. So now answer what you were asked? @kildaremackem
so £750k potentially..thats the number i had in mind..albeit I thought 750 plus add ons..
he wont have achieved the add ons as he didnt play much for norwhich but they will have got some of their money back with loan fees..
the fact he is playing for a much worse team than SAFC right now illustrates my point..he failed at a promotion contender..team..which i what SAFC aspires to be...

So they paid 350k and likely not much more because he probably didn’t hit the add ones but let’s just say we got even penny of the 750k (unlikely) and Norwich only got 1m ( the fee was reported in excess) with no add ons (unlikely) how is what we got not peanuts but what Norwich got it peanuts even tho the fee Norwich got was higher?
