Never too late apparently. My old man was a gambler. He lived his life pretty much as an atheist except some catholic lessons so he could marry my mam but always said he intended to convert on his deathbed because although the odds were ridiculous it’s the only winning bet!

Wouldn't a god be able to see through that though. If they are capable of creating a universe with everything in it then surely they would be able to tell somebody's just trying their luck to get in at the last minute?

I assume so but the rules vary and appear to often allow late entrants.
