Everton fans yesterday

I think it was and it was heard by people I know in both fan bases. I thought I heard it on sky once. Hopefully im wrong.
Be great if it wasn’t and I hope to never hear it again- not because I’m a snowflake but because it’s absolutely wank and irrelevant
The new version was loud Hank and will take over.
I'm pretty confident the old one won't be heard again

It was. At one point I heard one of the verses coming from the top blocks behind the goal

the maddie mcann thing was sung once, and by that i mean one round of it, and hardly anyone joined in. i was behind the goal, near the back.

when it got to that maddie mcann thing everyone behind me stopped singing it, other than 2 lone voices (sounded like fully grown blokes) who sang that awful bit, and i think someone shouted from further back telling them to shut up

and that was it. whole episode lasted 10 seconds. never heard it again after that

A real team Everton. Always have been.

Them and Villa and Arsenal have been successful for more than a century, ups and downs but always proper clubs. Once we in the same bracket, until the mid-50s. Maybe some day we'll be back there.

The same does not go for the likes of Chelsea.

Really good trips both times this season. Obviously winning helps 😂, but a genuinely friendly bunch who want to talk footy and have a mutual respect for each other. We're very similar when you speak to them and share a bitterness of our local rivals who tend to get the limelight. Must have spoken to about 10 Everton fans yesterday who wanted to talk and just all come across a proper fanbase and good people.

All sound the ones we spoke to , drank in the midland opposite the central train station proper old school boozer and had local feel even though was in centre, Liverpool is great city for pubs spoilt for choice and none of that home Fans only crap

'you laughed at us when we were shite, we came back up and beat you twice,
One nil at home, two one away,
All the geordies ran away'

Repeated

I never heard anything else but that was sang loads. Maybe a few kids sang the other verse near the people who heard the McCann version, or maybe they got confused and assumed the other version was sang , but like you , I never heard it. We sang the above loads like 👊😎💪
We sang the above coming out of the ground and it continued all the way up the road to the buses... few Everton fans gave it the thumbs up and even joined in

That was brilliant singing it all the way down the steps out of the stadium. The acoustics in that concourse were incredible. Reminded me of leaving Wembley after one of the play off finals when “Sunderland takeover” was sung all the way down the staircase and out of the stadium.

Went for the FA cup game. We got the buses from he stadium into the bus station and all the fans kept asking us where we were going to make sure we were getting on the correct bus. Cracking set of fans, Everton starting to become my 2nd favourite

never been keen on scousers but everton are the best of a bad bunch for me.
there was one walking out when it was 2-1 was going nuts with a bloke in one of the disabled seats in front of us, offering him outside and whatnot. don't know what triggered it, just assumed it was just a case of getting walloped on the pitch and he couldn't take it and looked for the one least likely to take him up on the offer.

what the hell is the maddie mcann bit? can't say i've ever heard it

There were dozens of coaches parked outside the stadium which were transport for Everton fans to and from the game. Clearly they have a massive following from elsewhere.
No different to the SOL with branches running from Durham, South Shields etc. But also pretty sure I read a while ago that so that the local boozers around Goodison keep going and people can keep up prematch traditions there's buses to and from those pubs to the ground. So could be those as well
