Jump on the shuttle bus from Bootle Strand shopping centre mate. Hassle free and straight to the ground and back. 4 quid return.

We used it for FA cup game the car park is multi storey for shopping centre so car is safe and bus leaves from the bus station next to it .All worked well we using it again

For the cup game we just got off at lime street, walked round, paid a quid or 1.50 or whatever and drops of the main street that runs parallel to the one by the ground.
Tbf to them its an efficient service.

Buses back too, but we walked back cos we had ages till train

Possibly driving the boy down for this but have no ticket myself, I remember the lively bar across the road from the stadium at the fa cup game (when I had a ticket), can anyone recall if they had sky sports in there, can't even remember even seeing a tv, just thinking someone to watch the game and enjoy the atmosphere pre game?

We walked back to town after the cup match, took us no more than half an hour although Google has it at 2 miles 45 mins ish.
We'd got the train up to Sandhills pre match and couldn't be chewed queuing after the match

Turn right when you're leaving the stadium walls, keep the river to your right and keep walking past all of the other dock walls. Can't go wrong.
