Europe or Premier league?

I hate folk that say “we’re not ready for…” you don’t get to pick a choose, just got to go for everything in the moment and see what happens

If there’s a chance of qualifying for European competition we should go for it. We still had the odd person last season saying we weren’t ready to go up etc. Always baffles me that.

I mean regarding the Europe thing we are not much worse off after last night

Its still there if we want it

If it happens it happens and we deal with it

This Europe thing has got folks slating some players and even the manager. We have well exceeded expectations, even the slaters expectations.

Sick of reading about Europe really, even before last night

Was never really a realistic thing with that many teams (and ahead of us) competing for a smidgen of places. It'd knack us this soon anyway

Mind, losing your **** because we won't qualify is the sign of the craziest of crazy loons. But there are some
Smidgen of places?

As the league stands with the top 5, if Villa and City win their cup competitions. The European places will be awarded as follows.

6th Champions League
7th Europa League
8th Europa League
9th Conference League

Absolutely loads still to play for being 2-4 points off them places and playing two of the teams also competing for them spots.

Not true. 6th place champions league replaces a europa league place.

After last night's performance and my own personal opinion from this season, I truly believe we are not ready for Europe (we weren't ready for the PL but look what's happened) if somehow we achieve this, would you rather advance into Europe or concentrate on the Premier league?

Think about it. Every season we’ve struggled barring three. The two that finished 7th consecutively under Reid and the 10th under Steve Bruce. Every other has been a lower half finish, just outside the relegation zone or relegation. Anyone still wondering why it is my bar is still low?

To date we’ve been able to on the odd occasion compete with the middle clubs but have never been on their level. Even they can stay up long term with very little effort - even if it means regularly finishing in the bottom half. We spunk millions more and try much harder to end up doing even worse off than even they do. People laugh at folk who want long term Premier League survival. They are perceived as being unambitious. But those people who are wanting more are as bad as those owners who advocate spending £150m on a player when £50m would be more than enough. People like me are more like Kyrill. Being frugal and tight with my ambitions does not mean unambitious. It just means I can see a greater potential for growth over the long term if we concentrate on staying up. That steady stream of income will see us buy better players who can maybe go far in a cup or go for Europe.

Fair enough. Seen so much discourse around it is hard to know who is right I'd seen it said that was possible via I thought a BBC graphic.

Frankly it's absolute nonsense the amount of teams that can get into Europe. 7 in the "Champions" League was a possibility when the English teams can't play each other is a joke.

So we need top 8 then. Cheers for correcting. Seen a sky article from yesterday clarifying.

Oh definitely, survival was always the goal, however that's done and we can now look forward, European qualification is not out of the question but either way it has been a great season for us and been good ever since Reggie came in.
