Europa Home Games

Have you heard of the laffer curve?
It also applies to things like this. Do you really think £50 is reasonable for Cluj or Maratimo?
good evening the RTG economics branch

to watch the wizards in Europe aye I do, if you think the amount some of us have spent on watching the lads away in league one, championship where we were absolute cash cows for those teams I think it is reasonable. what price would YOU put on seeing us win a game in Europe for the first time in expecting in your lifetime? ten bob?

Similar to what I pay to see Arsenal & Man City. About £30
Why are we using teams who aren't in the Europa league as an example?

Cluj are, someone else mentioned other on as example previously

Anybody who thinks a euro game against a minnow is going to sell out at £50 a pop is in cloud cuckoo land. It’s imperative that the club get the 4 game package out pretty quickly and be very careful with the pricing.
I don't think all games will sell out and would be very surprised if they do tbh.
That’s why the 4 game package is so important

Yeah it is. Im a non SC holder but will defo get a 4 game ticket if they go on sale, and would hope that would give me priority after SC holders for knockout games.

Cluj have to go through three 2-legged playoff rounds to reach the league stage that we are in.

Very small chance they get i into the actual competition proper.

I agree a 4 game package will be ideal, if the club have to set a fixed price across all the games 45-50 is absolutely reasonable

btw when did we get in a position to call any team a minnow? haway man first time in Europe for 53 years

We are a minnow to teams as well. It’s a Thursday night after a days work with work next day. Night games are notoriously not as well attended.

Like it or not, the match is now a day out and some people will be unwilling or unable to pay top dollar just for the match, that’s before we even think about exiles.

That is why we need to get the 4 match package priced right, people won’t want to miss Milan or juventus so would be worried about missing out if they didn’t get the package

You will need to pay for them.

I will say this again though, they will not be cheap. I keep seeing on Sunderland pages folk predicating that the tickets will be £20 and £10. They will not be.

I’d honestly budget for £150-200 for a four match bundle. A DD option will greatly soften the blow mind
I am expecting £50 a match for a pensioner and more of we go deep into the competition.

exactly this and the ones still thinking the club can realistically charge £30 a ticket for the likes of Milan and juve (if we got them, or any other ex CL teams) are more deluded than most and by the sounds of it will be watching it on a stream than in person at the SOL

It shouldn't be about how glamorous the opposition is, it's about watching Sunderland play European opposition for the first time in 50 years. Fair enough if you genuinely can't afford it but anyone turning their nose up is a proper Sky boy.
No they’re not, amazingly enough not everybody’s life revolves around football. I go to the games to enjoy the day with friends and family.

A Saturday game against say Ipswich with family (who live away) would be preferable to a Thursday night against say Cluj straight after a days work on a Thursday.

exactly. I would say the vast majority of us would never have imagined us gettin anywhere near this but yet still want to have a twist about paying possible a tenner more than they would for a single ticket against the likes of Plymouth? mind blowing

Will they all be 8pm kick offs at home or might there be some 6pm??

Thursday’s are good for me. 250 mile round trip but can be out of work for 5pm.

Can not wait for them but a 6pm KO would be tough.
