Europa Home Games

Fair enough if you don’t go due to the extra expense, but I cannot fathom deciding not to go and watch a Sunderland home game in Europe because the opposition are less fashionable. We’ll be there to watch Sunderland, not the opposition, won’t we?
Nothing unfashionable about a European game. I'm not there to watch the opposition - will be quite happy watching us batter some small team from Cyprus personally and having a party whilst doing it

I’m as buzzing as anyone about this campaign but Maritimo on a Thursday in December with 300 away fans and a heavily rotated team is unlikely to be bouncing!
...fuck me, we may aswel have finishes 12th or something...we've waited all our lives for this exact moment man.
We've only qualified 8 days ago....seems the novelty has wore off already on some

Hope it's not in Cyprus, I've got a van to drive to the venues 😱

I've been waiting since 1973 to go again 😎

Not me mate… constant WhatsApp chat about planning the away days etc, class. Can’t wait for the draw. Still stand by the fact that all four home games won’t be bouncing though!

Given that we already pay pretty low prices for tickets compared to many Premier League clubs and we will need to spend big again to compete over 4 competitions I think its fair the club charge separately.

That's true for the most part - but if they charge what Forest did we've got no chance.

I'd be amazed if any 4 ticket package cost less than £160. My season ticket (East Stand, level with the 18 yard line) works out at £34.80 per match but I think they will charge more for Europe.
I agree the season ticket price in the East stand U4 U5 and U6 without discounts is £825 per season now that works out at £43 a match for a season ticket holder. I can't see it being any cheaper for European matches. Of course that's the most expensive general season tickets

Just goes to show how much of a middle class bubble this place lives in.
Imagine thinking 46k people will stump up £50 to watch carrierbag FC
Think it’s odd that you think they won’t sell out. As long as they are in the ball park of normal match prices they will. People have waited generations for this

The last time we played in Europe my dad was 21 and I was minus 7. My dad is now retired and I’m 46. Said it earlier in the thread but I couldn’t give a flying fuck who we play, I had tears in my eyes looking at the screen after the Chelsea game and I just can’t wait for the draw. I don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want to go to these.

Are you me?

Because our cup crowd are historically shite
Its a midweek when loads cant make it & dont go to league games
Theres talk of prices being silly & theres supposed to be a cost of living crisis.
Theres a choice of 4 games, so if youre desperate to go to 'a' game you dont need to do all of them

Thurs night wont be easy for people coming from a distance and we have loads of exiles in our support. Townies are defo more price sensitive. This lot in charge wont price it low though thats for sure

European football for the first time since 73 and some of our lot still want a handout.

why should the club be offering discounts to anyone? the majority of ticket prices will likely be on the proviso of uefa anarl so the club will still want to make some sort of cut on top. £45-50 is very reasonable for some of the teams we could be up against

I’d be more concerned in how they’re goin to look at managing the away game allocation, by the sounds of it there’s 40k wanting a ticket atm

Have you heard of the laffer curve?
It also applies to things like this. Do you really think £50 is reasonable for Cluj or Maratimo?
