Euro 2028 SOL bid

Ideal capacity is a complicated concept, its not just how many times a year do you use all or part of the extension versus its cost, its also about being able to satisfy demand for the biggest games and keep the 'wants to attend' fanbase active and engaged, with a ripple effect on other matches. Unless you are a small club, in a period of anything but disaster putting in extra seats inevitably raises the 'normal' attendance a bit and the payback period may be over a huge number of years. Generally, if a club 'thinks' it may make sense, then it probably does. We went from 42 to 48 and it was undoubtedly the correct decision IMO, we need to be back in the top flight to go further, but if someone else fancies part funding it then its a no brainer IMO.

We probably needed at least 5 years of regular sell outs at 42,000 before thinking about extending. Do you agree??

Aye probably.

We sold out after the extension. The problem was the 19 point season..... then the 15 point season. Can't underestimate how much of an effect that had on us. Team does well we'll regularly sell it out again.

That’s a very big if. We’ve had how many top 10 finishes in the last 100 years?

If the government/uefa pay for it aye.

I honestly can't see this ownership ever funding an expansion. Club needs to be sustainable and all of that. Look at the off the pitch crap atm.

If under this ownership we ever get to the point where were averaging 47/48k i think wed start seeing ticket prices rising each season. Price elasticity and that. Increase ticket prices 10% but sell 5% less tickets = more money kind of thinking.

Thats in the short to mid term anyway. If we did that for 10+ years and were still selling out i suppose it would make sense to expand.

Back then all games weren’t so easily available at home.

And that is why we fail. Think big, do big.

Which may be why we as a club need to make the match day experience better. We were surveyed some time ago by the club. I don't see any changes yet. Many areas to improve.
