What you waffling on about?Ah yeah, me accidentally leaving calling there after changing it from “calling him” to “saying how he’s” makes the entire post illegible![]()
I'm not going to say he's absolutely class or owt, but it's harsh to call him an outright failure at Roma. He went there for a decent fee, especially from the French league. He then had 3 different head coaches in half a season, in addition to a knee injury. Not really sure how any signing is meant to get consistency in those circumstances.Mainly the fact that people calling saying how he’s clearly the most talented, a cut above the rest and has pedigree, despite the fact he hasn’t actually showed it.
He played well at Lorient then moved to Rennes who then let him go to Roma for almost the same fee that they paid for him.
€23 Million isn’t exactly a ‘big money’ move too, he’s not even in the top 15 of Roma’s most expensive transfers.
He then couldn’t do it in Italy, and then couldn’t get a deal for a top division side. None of this supports the idea that he’ll suddenly become the best player in the side once he clicks.
'There's a player in there' has been used on here to describe every player that has darkened Sunderland's doors over the last six or seven years.I'm not going to say he's absolutely class or owt, but it's harsh to call him an outright failure at Roma. Admittedly, them being happy for the move to become permanent if we go up doesn't suggest they see a future for him there, but it's not like he went there, played a bit and was way behind the level required.
Regardless, for a lad who was valued as highly as he was, who still has that valuation (looking at the agreed fee), to be in the championship suggests it's a decent coup for the buying side. And I think he has shown flashes of talent. In this side, at the minute, you don't need to do much more than that to stand out from a talent perspective. He's shown that whilst settling into another club in another country, getting another injury, playing out of position, being carefully managed in terms of minutes and playing for a side that is either playing very much within themselves or has very deep rooted issues. He's not been outstanding, and yesterday was the worst I've seen him, but there's flashes there that suggest he is a talented player. Whether he'll get the consistency and the club to suit him is anyone's guess but I think most who have watched him would say there's a player in there
He was shocking,if he was Billy smith from shildon he would be getting hammered.A foreign name goes a long way on here.I'm not going to say he's absolutely class or owt, but it's harsh to call him an outright failure at Roma. Probably aye but in his case I think it's warranted. Not yesterday, because he was shit, but there's been plenty of times where he's pulled off a good, inventive pass that the rest of our lot wouldn't have seen. Sometimes he's got a really good touch (again, not yesterday). He's certainly not set the world alight or looked levels above or owt, but I think with him you can tell he's a good footballer. Whether he'll be able to get it consistent enough for a top flight career is anyone's guess'There's a player in there' has been used on here to describe every player that has darkened Sunderland's doors over the last six or seven years.
It was a misrepresentation of players' abilities on many occasions.
I am torn on him,I want us to go up but would hate to pay an obligated 20mil for him.Probably aye but in his case I think it's warranted. Like a bible story. I sold my hair to buy you a watch chain, you sold your watch to buy me a comb.I am torn on him,I want us to go up but would hate to pay an obligated 20mil for him.
Instructions to work with another player on the team? Do you mean tactics? Assume that will happen irrespective of who starts? He should be played where Rigg is playing with instructions to work with Roberts down that right-hand side.
Agree there mind, given we're not exactly likely to be splashing the cash it's a lot for someone who hasn't yet really impacted. Suppose the club will look at it as someone whose value is likely to increase but aye, I wouldn't be desperate to sign him and the obligation is a hassle. It's one I'll take if it means we go to mind!I am torn on him,I want us to go up but would hate to pay an obligated 20mil for him.

It's OK because the dof system prevents managers bringing in players they want and being saddled with them if they're sacked. He will be the worst signing if we get promoted in my analysis £20M is way too much….I think there are better players for £20M on the market…..I think he is a good player but not a team player…. I think he disrupts the dressing room at Safc…
What’s he been saying in the dressing toom? It's OK because the dof system prevents managers bringing in players they want and being saddled with them if they're sacked.
He’s not a left winger. It’s that simple.
Which games has he played central?Maybe not. But Regis has moved him centrally on quite a few occasions now trying to ease him in and started him there a few times too. Whilst in the more attacking roles he does try to release Isidor he generally gets a bit bogged down and isn't able to show his ability. When he's played deeper he's also been a liability dwelling on the ball, getting caught and losing it, often in completely stupid areas of the pitch.
So as talented as he is and I'd play him instead of Rigg in a central attacking role, realistically when he's played central so far he's not really looked up to the physical aspects or the pace of it yet.
Bristol City away for 60 mins and 50 mins of that was with 10 men. Few other minutes here and there......fuck all really. Criminal.Which games has he played central?
Which games has he played central?
No…I can just remember one occasion so I was asking. Given your assertion I thought you knew…apparently you don’t.Off the top of my head I don't know - id have to go back and check for specifics. He's started two and dropped in centrally six or seven times during games - he's been moved there most recent games.
Had he been fit more we might have seen more of him centrally.
Are you suggesting he hasn't played there?
