ENZO LE FEE 🇫🇷 compendium thread

The thing that surprises me, which I've said a few times, is he's not a luxury player either. His tracking back and tackles are relentless. Works his socks off every minute that he's on the pitch whilst also showing consistent quality.

It doesn't surprise me at all that clubs like Arsenal have had rumoured links to him due to that alone.
I remember flagging this on January 9th 2025, he loves a tackle and I thought our fanbase would warm to him

Talking shite. I love le fee he’s a class little player I just don’t get as carried away as some on here.

He isn’t and will never be anywhere close to Bernardo silvas level of ability.

Only on here would you ever hear that opinion ion you’d be laughed at making it elsewhere
I haven't compared the two but I'm happy to repeat that your position is entrenched. You won't change your opinion. I'll just watch how Enzo develos.Throwing insults in doesn't make your opinion more valid.

You are right tbf like I won’t believe tha Enzo le fee is currently anywhere close to Silvia’s level of ability and is absolutely miles off it

Not a dig like as silvas was outstanding but people get very carried away on here

Well that got a reaction...

Note I didn't actually claim Le Fee is on Bernardo Silva's level, but I think there are clear similarities in how they play and given Man City have a track record in signing PL players from clubs around our level (Guehi, Ait Nouri, Semenyo), I could see Le Fee being someone who fits their system nicely. I don't that's particularly controversial tbf.
City ready to drop £90m on Paqueta a season ago. Give me Le Fee for half that over Paqueta...

I remember people claiming Callum Doyle would gain a hundred England caps when he was playing L1 for us. I never criticise Sunderland players but I thought that was certainly people getting carried away.

Talented but not quick enough. Might play premier league though.

The comparison was made by the commentators on our home game against Manchester City. The Quote from one of them said that Le Fee wouldn't look out of place in the City side and the other agreed comparing him favourably with Silva. Mind Enzo had a great game that day. He's a very good player for us but the chap you're conversing with does like to sneer a lot about our better players not being very good, so you can't take him too seriously.
Come off it man ffs he couldn’t tie Bernardo Silvas boots and that isn’t a dig at le fee
Of course it's a dig, you're always having digs at our players, are you actually a Sunderland fan or just a bit of a football snob who likes to troll. The op's not the only one who rates the Elf as our most creative player he's well thought of by lots of football commentators and so he should be.

This is occasionally what happens on here; especially when we’re in lower divisions.

Some players get elevated to a level that they’re not at, so whenever someone disagrees with that inflated assessment, it appears to be ‘hating’ the player. And similarly; other people will go the complete opposite way and say they’re ‘shite’ when they’re obviously not because some have gone overboard with their ratings!

The 100 cap Colin Todd comparison was made about Doyle after an away pre-season friendly to York. We’ve had comments about ‘generational’ talents in the squad and ‘England’s future midfield’ when in the championship too.

It’s good to be back in the top flight when all this is better contextualised because we see the actual levels every week.

By the same token, Callum Doyle is still only 22 and has +100 more Championship appearances under his belt than John Stones did at that age. He was only 17 when he did really well in our back line.
(To keep the comparison running, Stones made his 1st professional appearance for Barnsley at 20 - they just avoided relegaition, and he joined Everton at about the age Doyle is now)

I remember reading on here that Semenyo would never make it at the top. How’s he doing now after one league 1 loan?

I wouldn’t say there anywhere near each other ability wise, Bernardo Silva will be remembered as one of the PL greats given time, but ELF sort of does the same job as him in that he’s an attacking ball carrier with engines who constantly chip away at the opponent with little niggly tackles etc, they’re similar players play style wise, definitely not ability wise though

Couldnt agree more mate

Aye but John Stones had nigh on 100 appearances for Everton by the same age. Most of which were in the top flight! Doyle has none.

Also, Stones signed for Everton in January 2013. He was born in 1994.

I’m starting to doubt my sanity and my maths now

Fancy posting a row of smilies to mask the fact that as usual you got the wrong end of the stick with your hyperbolic reaction to a comparison that wasn't actually made by the op who you laughed at. It was made by the 2 DAZN commentators covering our game against City. Rather than give quid quo pro I'll just leave one of these
