Engraved Miners Lamps

What impresses me the most about this, is it's forcing players to understand a little bit about the history of Sunderland, the working class background and the people they represent when they wear the badge.

Every player will wonder what the significance of the lamps are, and it will lead to that little bit of understanding. And when granit Xhaka is looking back through his career, whilst this isn't a trophy or a medal (hopefully that's to come!) it's something that will always symbolise what playing for sunderland meant.

This sort of thing is what makes us different

Should have waited a year to get my miner’s lamp tattoo could have used one of these as the source image and paid tribute to both my grandad and SAFC in the same tattoo.

Still delighted with the one I got, like!

Club could make a fortune selling replica ones too.I’d love one of those and I reckon they would fly out

I had a look on Ebay many months ago to see what miners lamps were available to buy after I noticed SAFC were using them as a prop to announce new players signing.

Plenty on there of various sorts but I'm only interested if it includes the club crest or is SAFC branded.

So yes I would be buying one of them if they were available.
