I have no idea

I’m not exactly convinced on Flower, he’s been a bit of a disaster with the Lions

Yeah struggled there, but he knows an international player IMO.

He is really disliked by a lot, not sure why, he was revelation for us.

e
He did and scored a grand total of 87 runs in those 3 tests. The point @The Rat was appearing to make was they should be a seasoned international

Its a ridiculous appointment like, you won't change my mind on that

Lets see how he does, but Strauss has just appointed a mate

I would be better than the previous lot so has to be an improvement regardless if they are mates

Doesn't always work 0ut. Didn't Gatting and Gooch being selectros coincide with us dropping to the bottom of the test rankings in 1999? I'm not a believer in once having had to be a horse before you can ride one
The ability to spot a cricketer is all the skills required. Could have played 3rd XI club cricket for all i care.

Interesting article in the Sunday Times about him today (paywall sorry)

Seems they think he is a big fan of Buttler and Billings. And wouldn’t be surprised if Hameed comes in and Malan moves to 3 ahead of Vince.

All speculation obviously, but some of the quotes from him in the past suggest he isn’t a “yes man”

Picking Hameed would be a total and utter disaster

I never thought that he has the power to just totally change the team right now, I guess he does!

Quite possibly yes. As I said, it’s speculation

I am personally of the opinion is that the team isn't a million miles away from being what it should be

I don't mean any good, just there aren't loads of players out there. I certainly don't see any openers

The old debate about moving Bairstow up and getting Buttler on, and Root up and getting another middle order in etc. Been having them for like 3 years now and nowhere near solving them

Also in today's Times, satire from Simon Wilde on the proposed "Hundred" which is far more provocative than anything George Dobell has produced.
