decent side that. i like the batting line up and the bowling is well covered for the likely conditions as well

you know, i might just wager a couple of sheckles on england winning this

I like that team. My only question mark is Yardy who is perfect for 20/20. I think I might be tempted to go for Rashid as a wicket taking option with Colly being your 6th bowler as cover if hes going for a few.

I thought the same in the summer but from what I remember Yardy did a good containing job in the middle overs. No-one seemed to be able to get him away and although I dont remember him taking many wickets he did well. And he got 3 wickets in the games against the Presidents XI the other day.

I think that's how I'd go aswell. Only possible changes I'd make would be to bat KP at 3 and maybe Morgan higher, but I'm not sure how that would work as I don't really want Colly as low as 6.

More than happy with those 5 bowlers however.

I'd put Morgan higher if we were chasing, but when setting a total I'm happy with Morgan at 6 to blast some runs late in the innings. And when we're setting a total, if Strauss goes early then Bell has the ability to bat through, but if it is Davies that goes Pietersen that can whack it around. That's the advantage of having a flexible batting line-up.

Agree with the Yardy comment. He seems to bowl and after no time he's got through 10 overs for less than 40 runs, take that every time!

Bopara, Prior, Tredwell and Broad as back up.

Tremlett deserves a chance to cement his place in the ODI side after his performances in the ashes.

Playing in the sub-continent we're definitely going to need two spinners and I stuck Tredwell in there for his batting ability and experience as well as what he brings to the table as bowler. This tournament probably comes to early for Rashid and Panesar is not an ODI player. I also don't rate Yardy so he would have to go; for someone who is a batsman by trade he is diabolical at this level and for me he doesn't take enough wickets despite containing runs sometimes.

The batsmen pretty much pick themselves and while it is a slight concern playing 4 number 8's they should have more than enough to see out 50 overs on batsmen friendly wickets.

Tredwell for me is piss poor I'd much rather have Rashid in if we wanted another spinner on top of Yardy and Swann as at least the guy will take wickets

He's quite a wily character and I worry if we stick Rashid in there it could destroy his confidence if he gets hit to all parts. Also, once teams figure out a way to play Yardy effectively he'll be useless. Never takes wickets and never scores runs, he's an extremely negative and limited player to have in the team.

he isn't a wicket taker but IMO neither is Tredwell but he has a very decent ecconomy and can bat a bit which shouldn't be under estimated. People haven't found out how to play Yardy and doubt they will for a while due to him being able to bowl so many different balls.

Adil Rashid will be 23 so should be ready so no excuses really. Still think it will be Swann and Yardy who go.
