The Dutch won the toss and are batting first, 12/0 after 2 overs.

Yardy misses out for England, rather surprisingly IMO, Bopara and Swann return.

Strauss, Pietersen, Trott, Bell, Collingwood, Bopara, Prior, Bresnan, Swann, Broad, Anderson

36/1

AN Kervezee c †Prior b Bresnan 16 (25b 2x4 0x6) SR: 64.00

Over earlier Broad went for 13.

tv coverage

radio on iplayer in there

119 for 2 25 overs

tommy cooper (not kidding) 43 not out

ten doeschate 32 n.o.

colly is sporting a nifty ginger beard

because he does not score many runs or take many wickets

But has the best economy rate of any of our bowlers

10 overs from Yardy is a much better option on these type of pitches than trying to throw together 10 from Collingwood, Pietersen and possibly even Trott and Bopara.

His batting isn't that shabby either.

could have done with luke wright:evil:

136 for 3 off 28.1

ten doeschate has an average of 64 odd. playing well here as well 43 off 46 balls

whats yardys batting average out of interest colly is not doing to badly tbh

I don't have a problem with Colly bowling, but I think it's best he bowls 6/7 overs rather than be expected to bowl 10 every innings.

I think Yardy's batting average is about 18 which isn't very high at all but he normally bats 7/8 and has a couple of 50's down there so I think he's handy at this level (Providing he's batting in the lower order)

why in the hell is Yardy not playing, crazy! Anderson might be gone come the next game as it will probably be between him and Bresnan

yardy batting average is 23.61 with a hs of 60

bopara batting average is 28.50 with a hs of 60

colly batting average is 35.68 with a hs of 120

wright batting average is 21.86 with a hs of 52

bresnan batting avearge is 25.27 with a hs of 80

Think England are in big trouble here, no control at all in the field and chasing 260 plus under lights is easy against no-one, especially with a distinct lack of hitters in the side.

this is as a flat pitch as you can get. 260 won't be anywhere enough

True it is pretty flat, just a bit concerned that we have too many one-paced batsman (Strauss, Trott, Bell, Collingwood) so if it does start to nip around under the lights we could get a bit bogged down.

EDIT: Timely wicket there, still expect Holland to knock up about 270

England just trying to get this competition started. We didn't want comfortable wins in the early stages against the minnows anyway.
