This is very tepid. There seems to be no pressure or intensity since tea and it’s allowing a very steady accumulation of runs. We’re now about four or five overs of fortuitous slogging from being just about out of the game.

Basically hoping they bat too long to win and it ends a draw

The atmosphere in the field is very flat. That’ll not be helping knackered bowlers at all. Thirty runs have just been added to the total with so much of a shout from the field. We’re just letting it slip.

The bowlers aren’t machines though. The seamers have bowled pretty well for 25/30 overs each, old ish ball, flat pitch and sun out. We can’t just run through teams all the time.

Overton hasn’t either apart from a few overs after lunch yesterday. Bowled well this morning, could have had Virat and was economical.
Pope, Ali and Robinson had these lush batting conditions with old ball and chucked their wickets away. That’s costing us now.
