England vs India (fourth test) The Oval

They've been brilliant, feel for Jimmy n Robinson who really needed our batsman to bat out a lot longer for rest

Missing Wood, and Ali been expensive

Didnt need Woakes, Robinson and Overton, its 2 of them

Need a miracle with the new ball, but its our last real chance

Not lost yet though

f***ing Burns dropping Sharma twice, get him out of the team man.

I always think when watching other teams bowl, they have the ability to get wickets on flat pitches bowling straight, and its not just down to pace. Siraj is a good example of that, skiddy.

Wood is quick but he rarely gets wickets that way. Mahmood is the only similar one I can think of, but they must not fancy him.

They are obviously relying on the new ball to skittle these out quickly. Even if they do you would have thought the lead would be up to at least 250/300.

We haven’t got a hope in other words.

India still 4/5… that seems like buying money. No matter how flat the track is I can’t see us batting out a draw.

Pitch has done nowt. Onslow gambled on a team full of RFM seamers and winning the toss and has given Root nowt to work with.

People talk about Moeen being mismanaged, which is true to some degree - but then you see him turn in performances like this where he can’t even hold down an end and remember why he hasn’t been able to keep a place in the team over the past few years.

Its harsh comment that mate, first proper red ball bowl in about 2 years.

Thats the issue.

Yeah same, top order worse than shite. Middle order has some good players but strengths lie in scoring not batting time.
I think England is the only team in the world that produces pitches that dont help their own team

Why????

Look at what India did in the winter, sacked their groundsman, why do we do this to ourselves.

60/4 by lunch tomora 😭🤣
More likely. It’s a flat pitch, if they bat too long we have a chance but it’s odds on we will cave under pressure.

I was thinking that myself re the pitch.

Tbf Ali has never been much good at holding down an end, however long a run he's had in the team. His economy rate is 3.6 compared to Jack Leach 2.9, Dom Bess 3.0, Ashley Giles 2.8 etc. Only Adil Rashid has a worse economy rate in the modern era.

He looks very good when he can get turn and bounce out of the rough. He's been picked for his batting.

If I was Kohli I’d be fuming with Rohit doing that first delivery with the new ball.
GET IN ROBBO
