England vs India (fourth test) The Oval

Overton will be out of the next test only bowling half the overs of our main 3. Mahmood to come in for him.
If this is what they expect the pitches in Australia to be like, there's no way we can play Overton

the oval doesnt produce pitches that suit English cricket mate, thats not a controversial thing to say.

Look at the wickets India produced, they were only interested in winnings

Thats not the case in England.

But your point makes no logical or statistical sense.

We’ve won our last three tests at the Oval for starters. Secondly, you’re saying they don’t produce pitches that are suited to us. What do you want them to produce that you think will favour England?

They’ve produced a proper Test pitch here. We won the toss and stuck them in on a pitch in conditions that favoured us. Live grass and cloud cover. We knocked them over for a reasonable total, maybe 40 more than we’d have hoped. We then didn’t score heavily to really put India under pressure (where we did on an apparently less batting friendly surface at Leeds).

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with this pitch.

Agree. Being 62/5 on a road is the issue

People seriously blaming the wicket for the piss poor gameplan, selection and batting? We won the toss and chose to bowl first in favourable bowling conditions. We failed to capitalise on it. I can't remember the last time we lost three test series in a row, but Root and Onslow are on target to equal this. Been found wanting against anyone decent.

Of course it is. That didn’t happen at Headingly and we scored heavily enough to turn the screw. The difference in this test really is that Joe Root didnt score a biggie. The pitch thing is total bollocks.
We put on 230 for our last 5. 160/5 in reply would have been poor but as it stands we’d be in a good position if that was the situation

as a general point it’s not

we are the only Country in the world that doesn’t play to our strengths

It’s bizarre

A ballsy performance will win this match, just go out and bat like it's the first innings.
Just don't see the mental fortitude in too many of our players though...prove me wrong you knackers!

Just for once can we apply ourselves and get to 50/0. Predicting 3 down by end of day but hope we can really stand up and make a go of this. No excuses on this pitch.

I think it will either be 0 or like 5 or 6

Has this really never dawned on you before?

been a pretty big point in the media for years like.

See you keep giving some pretty smart Alec responses but you’ve yet to explain. Given England’s current crop of players, what pitches do you think we should produce?

It’s easy to just be a twat but you’re not a twat. So don’t be
