Surprised and a bit dissapointed after wrapping the series up we haven't given pennington/potts a chance mind. We all know what Woakes/Wood offer, would have been an ideal opportunity to give them a go in a test

Given it's the third test, maybe potts and pennington will get the chance they need.
 
What was the point in taking Potts and Pennington away from their counties for a month?

Potts played one T20 in July
Pennington a 50 over game against Lincolnshire that wasn't even list A status.

One eye on the Ashes they said while 25 year olds carry drinks for a month

Can't predict the future can we, really, you just never know with injurys.

I still don’t understand the argument of getting shot of Anderson due to looking towards the future, but then continuing to select Woakes who is very poor abroad.

And that’s nowt against Woakes, he’s a cracking player in England who I really like

Thought Wood would have been rested for the 1st Sri lanka test with Pennington getting a chance

They'd have to pull up injured between now and about 10:30am tomorrow!

I hope that isn't the case. As as much as I want Pennington/Potts to not just carry drinks this summer, we don't want any other seamer getting injured.

We've had that bother for years outside of Jimmy/Broad.

Oh of course you want your best players playing, but unless you can see the future , you can just never predict how the test is going to go.
