England v India - Third Test, 10/07

Their tears if we win will be glorious to see.

Only 2nd to the mags for the most insufferable fanbase in sport.

I’ve got a phrase, but I will refrain while the fat lady is still on standby.
TBF I feel he said that a little tongue in cheek.

I heard him say it to two separate interviewers, it didn’t ‘sound’ tongue in cheek. Either way, it was a daft thing to say. Bazball levels of arrogance

Weren’t they a bit cheaty in the test in India last time, something about the pitches?

Meh, we won the first one on a pretty flat pitch, so every game after that they made sure the decks were absolute bunsens. I don’t mind that really, that’s what home advantage should be about. It didn’t make for great cricket, but it’s a results business I suppose.

Also a bit envious that India can get the pitches they want from their venues, whereas we ask for a certain type of pitch and the groundsman essentially tells the skipper to sod off (Edgbaston/Lords).
