England v India - Third Test, 10/07

For info Ritchie Richardson ex West Indies test player is the match referee

Would love to hear from him as well, with all the kerfuffle that’s going on

Not really a Cricket fan but thought I knew the rules....Why are India playing with an extra man?...They have one Wicket Keeping but have a Better Batsman Hitting in that place...I know Pant is injured so surely the Sub should have to bat too
Subs dont work like that unless concussion in cricket. You can sub a fielder if injured, the issue being the fielder is the wicketkeeper.

They are protecting Pant's finger but within the rules of allowing a sub fielder, if a keeper is injured you are allowed to swap him with another keeper as it's a specialist position. which makes India's theatrics last night when Crawley was wasting time even more silly as we all bend the rules ;)
