I’m going early. Watching 36yo Chris Woakes open the bowling in 2025 is just hideous. Hopefully this looks stupid in an hour.

The wickets they were taking people out on were a lot more bowler friendly than today’s.

Don’t get me wrong I never seen them play like but it was a lot more in bowlers favour back then

Thing is though, they never had ball changes every 20 overs and faced some of the all time great batsmen
 
Playing himself out of the team is Woakes. It’s sad when a bowler goes over the hill in front of your eyes

Atkinson for him next test , depending on jof and stokes being able to bowl

Also a good point. You can argue it whatever way really but he is outstanding like

Like I say I saw none of those bowl but he’s one of the best I’ve seen
