England v India - Third Test, 10/07

Is the rule that the batsman must be ready when the bowler takes his mark? Bumble was saying if they're not ready the bowler should just fly in anyway.

It's the strains of being a test all-rounder mate, it puts so much strain on your body as your practically do two jobs at the same time.
I mean get injured bowling or playing a big shot. Don't get injured leaving.
It's all down to the umpire, if they think the batsman didn't have enough time to get ready they can call it a dead ball.
Get that but you'd think there's plenty of time when facing a fast bowler. Plus I like Bumbles idea, people just fleeing about and clattering the stumps with no one facing

If I was gill I’d wait to take new ball and get in as many overs in as possible with these 2 tonight till close of play to minimize points penalty . They aren’t giving anything away, another 10-20 odd runs won’t really matter
