England v India - Third Test, 10/07

Shastri must’ve had too much champagne at Tea, the number one batsman in the world is at the non-strikers end, Ravi.
Decent ball. Seemed a half hearted defence though

This. Neither forward nor back, not committed, Bairstow levels of openness in the defensive prod.

Brook went to number 1 after the last test.

I don't think it's a permission thing any more, it's allowable in the Laws of the game
Was taking the liquid...
Maybe we have to open it up a bit? Put the bowlers under pressure.
Dawned if they do, dawned if they don't.

Looks trickier to bat on than some are suggesting tbh. Looks a bit slow and staying slightly lower.

Edit. On reflection even though the first wkt was rash, it looks like he gets ahead of the ball and nicks it on the underside, suggesting it's been slow from the off.

Some proper old fashioned cricket being played today.

I don't know if it was by design or forced upon them by the match situation. Either way I'm glad they've ground it out. Even Pope. He did the hard work and had a brain fade.

Need these 2 to stick in.
