Faint heart never won fair lady and once again England's faint heart came to the fore.
The start let us down, disappointed but could see after 2-3 overs we were not going to win it.
Cook fannying about at the start set the mood.
He was a walking wicket yesterday. He didn't seem to know what was going on.
I thought Trotts attitude was spot on. Which is unusual considering he's not noted for T20 but it was another woeful dismissal.
Bopara & Morgan were left with a lot of work to do but were let down by those who went before and after them. They set us up for the win but for Bopara to play that shot straight after Morgans dismissal was criminal.
Bopara had his eye in. Why does it make any difference Morgan had just gone ?
If you lose quick wickets, you lose the game.
We went from 110-4 to 113-8 in 7 balls.
We still needed runs, so bop had to play a shot or two at some point . He thought he could clear the rope at that point...bad luck
It was the wrong shot to take. Period.
If he'd left it I think the square umpire would've given a wide. Sharma was all over the place at the time. The fact that Bopara made contact with the ball ruled out any chance of the wide being given unfortunately.
Its a pity as he'd been superb since he came back into the team.
Imo it wasn't as we were talking about mm's, but I dunno if thats what zebediah is on about i'm just guessing.
Just one of those cricket things innit... Irrelevant it was straight after Morgan going IMO
Slag him off for the shot, but why the timing?
Because we then had two new batsmen at the crease who're immediately under pressure to score quickly.
Makes no difference. If Ravi doesn't go for shots you still have two batsmen not scoring
He won't be the first or the last to chase a wide and get it wrong
It quite blatantly did. All he had to do was pick the right shot. That wasn't it.
Remember, we had two power play overs after Sharma's over. Having a batsman with his eye in would've been more beneficial than not.
Its true we would probably have won had he not been out however it was halfway down the pitch, it was a 20/20 game, the spinners were very hard to play so players had to take scoring opportunities that were on offer.
It was more the execution than the decision to play the shot.

Should never have lost the game but blaming Bopara or Morgan for me is totally wrong, Buttler and Bresnan looked shot to bits under the pressure, Ravi and Morgan lived by the sword and died by it going for big shots, no blame attached to them IMO.
