Fair enough. He did still outscore everyone else that series mind and he's improved since then. Not denying Kohli is great I just think Smith is the better batsman

Exactly. On a track with true bounce and no lateral movement, Smith is nigh on impossible to get out and scores runs for fun. He plays spin well too.

But this has been a much more difficult series for batsman - they've had the stats up, not just the batting averages (which could be indicative of poor batsmen) but also the amount of lateral movement. It's been very high - two good bowling attacks, and helpful pitches for the bowlers. In that context, Kohli has been absolutely outstanding - playing a different game to everyone else. Can't really remember a touring batsman coming here and batting this well. Maybe have to go back to someone like Lara.
