Spin has produced plenty of chances. We've had him out.

These two are the key pair. Rashid is garbage, let's get Stokes on for a few against Rahane.

I don't see that the rest of them will have an answer to Ali, as in first innings. We just need this pair out. Or one of them.
 

Still fuming about that ridiculous decision, this is the problem with Curran though, he hasbeen picked as a bowler, needs to bowl

Hes still averaging 40 plus at 3.

KP had 3 top class batsmen in front of him so it was never an issue. England have me, you and smoker hence batting 3 or 4 for Root makes little difference. You look at things too simplistically, I want Root batting 4 for England but you don't just blindly put him there if there is fuck all to choose ahead of him. Viv Richards was one of the greatest batsmen of all time - he usually batted 4 but when WI had a problem at 3 he batted there. Its what class players should be able to do when the team needs it.

It does make a difference, he is averaging 12 more at 4
