I have no idea what planet there on not picking Hain.

Root has been huge to our ODI success as the run accumulator who stays in and lets the others go over 100 SR. While averaging 50 odd and still going at 80-90

Which is what Hain has been doing for the past 3 or 4 seasons.

This is them definitely saying not interested in the royal london. That blast and hundred is the basis for England white ball selection.,

As much as I agree with this, Malan will 100% be in the team playing that role. That’s the only reason I can think of as to why the selectors would ignore someone with those numbers.

“South Africa-born Brydon Carse, 25, is selected despite his modest 50-over record. He has bowled at lively pace for Durham and impressed on a Lions tour of Australia last year.”
 
Would be ironic if things started getting cancelled left right and centre due to Covid on the various camps now crowds are allowed back. Can see it causing chaos if it’s going to run wild with 100k cases a day and whatever

Well considering Hain hasn't been picked there not even basing selection off 50 over cricket.

Jobs for the boys or T20 records.

Carse as he's about as quick as there is after all the ones injured or isolating.

It would be interesting to know what they don't fancy about Hain especially now with so many Ex or current Warwickshire coaches involved with England.

As @Dexter says above the only logic is Malan is the backup to root at 3.

Hain doesn't get in the side in another position.

But there must be something they don't think he can make the step up.

I just don't get it with some of the other names called up.

Not that I'm against Lawrence but an for example averages 33 less than Hain in list A
