Wouldn't say the cupboard was bare but certainly not as strong as say a year ago. Anyone a bit concerned moving forward?

Onions
Woakes
Bresnen

Is Tremlett completely out the picture now?

Could do with a couple of young quicks, plus a spinner coming through the ranks. That said, Finn and Broad are still young

Out of all the quicks on the county circuit who do you think is the closest to challenging the likes of Finn and Anderson in the test side?

Just to add to what SAFc luke said I mentioned on another thread about Killeen having been away with some England lads in South Africa, lads that are on the fringe of the England team. Tremlett was one of them. As safc luke said he is coming back from injury but seems to be still very much a part of the selectors thoughts if they are paying for him to go to SA with NK.

GB seems to agree with me haha

Add Meaker to that list, James Harris, Toby Roland-Jones, plenty young talent coming through.

Yep heard good things about harris and roland jones.

If Tremlett can stay fit he'll be amongst the squad. Bresnan looked a shadow of himself, think he really needs this last operation to have been a fantastic success or he'll just fade away from the international scene.

From what I've seen of Woakes he looks a decent lower order batsman but I haven't been impressed by his bowling at all, just doesn't do enough or have enough pace to threaten top class players.

Meaker looks pretty nippy but erratic, needs to kick on over the next couple of years. Haven't seen much if anything of Harris, Roland-Jones.

Looking for big seasons from Stokes and the lad at Kent who got kicked out of the squad with him (can't remember his name), think there's an all-rounder spot up for grabs in the ODI squad.

Keep an eye out for Keith Barker of Warwickshire in England ODI squad. Very highly rated at Edgbaston. Left arm medium quick who can certainly bat. With Giles at the England ODI helm he should get a look in.:-)

Anyone know if boyd rankin is back fit and bowling again? Highly regarded bowler who was on England's radar before his injury
