One T20 against the Windies for Durham, lucky us.

Richard Thompson last year:

Finishing the Test season in July means the whole season feels truncated. The Test summer absolutely will not be squeezed like this in future.

Last test of the 2025 summer starts in July.

Arsehole.
And one more thing.

Which format has the most games in 2025?

50 over ODis, obviously. The format they've destroyed domestically.

Sometimes you have to take a step and look and the people that run the game in England and think: Are you actually just taking the piss? Are we all just victims of some hidden camera prank show and there's going to be some be reveal in 2026?

Mixed feeling about the earlier finish to the Test series. Should mean better chance of good weather than the usual final Test in September but it does feel very rushed and then a long gap to the Ashes starting in November.

I like the timing of the tests. Gives cricket the oxygen of publicity when not competing with PL games.

That's all WED is bothered about, the comparison with Durham. Privately he'll be laughing his tits off at how it's been dealt with, or not
Rightly so. As a Durham member the hypocrisy is absolutely astounding and it's absolutely rotten. It's something that's brought up a lot when I speak to opposition fans as well, so pleased don't kid yourself into thinking this is just a Durham fan with this views it's a view shared across the county membership. Yorkshire got off ever so lightly it was absolutely laughable how they dealt with it all along with the clowns at the ECB. Then you look at Middlesex and also Essex absolutely naff all really said or done about it. Whole thing is rotten to the core. To say I hate the ECB would be a massive understatement.

One test match in the school holidays?

If we were trying to turn kids away from test cricket, we could barely be doing a better job.

It's frankly bizarre that the farce absolutely has to be played while the kids are off, it can't be moved under any circumstances, and anyone who says otherwise hates the idea of children watching cricket. Even though it's played on an evening and there's nothing to stop kids going down after school.

Test cricket though, played during the day, must be scheduled so kids can't go.

Mental.

clubs stance always seems to be well let’s just move on, and forget about it, but sometimes wish they’d shouted from the rooftops over how Lenient the ECB were with Yorkshire, might be a case of not poking the bear but still

The timing of cricket does my head in in general, tests starting on wed on a bank holiday weekend, some CC Games not covering weekends, mid week t20’s
It’s like they don’t want people to go

Same as Durham going into schools during the summer, surely they should be going in feb March time and give kids who have enjoyed it time to find a club for the season,

Bairns school had them come in a couple of weeks before summer hold, most junior league finish end of July

These tests have had no visibility when clashing against the PL. There were even people moaning about the lack of September tests on here last year.

We’ll agree to disagree.

Is that not an ideal time to give taster sessions Clubs have then got school holidays to get kids involved in coaching sessions and small sized games. Beginners aren't ready for formal league games.
