For Gods sake don't show Cartwright the scorecard.
wright lbw 0 Osinde (?) 5 balls

prior 78
trott 57

strauss 1 and pietersen 24 opened the batting

colly stumped for 9

wright 4--0---25----amazingly no wickets taken 6.25 per over

no catches taken

the next botham/flintoff is our luke

the number 7, rizwan cheema, for canada came in and off 70 balls scored 93 with 10x4s and 5x6s

If Wright can't do anything against Canada then there really is no hope for the lad.

The way it's looking there is absolutely zero chance of England winning this world cup.

there is no shock, surprise or anything re wright's performance

he has done this for most of the last 2 years against any level of team.

i really cant understand the continued selection of him by england

surely flower and strauss must notice his continued failure?

oh and by the way, england won by 16

I agree. Offers very little with bat and ball and has never threatened to do anything in quite a while on the international stage as well.

Another one in a long line of bits and pieces players England love to have in the team.

he is being carried and all i can think of, in his favour, is that he is a good fielder and on the very rare occasion strauss trusts him, he can bowl an over of yorkers.

surely that cant be enough to keep him in the actual starting team?

It's a very English thing though.

We seem to pick teams with players in who can do everything averagely than do one discipline very well.

How many caps did Ricky Clarke get?

wright has failed to play averagely, in any position in the team he has batted or bowled.

his fielding is the only positive keeping him in the team

as for clarke dont know of hand, less than 20?

Less than 20 too many. I agree Wright is cack.

144 runs at 11 and 11 wickets for Clarke. He even played 2 test matches in 2003!
