Eng v South Africa 3rd Test

It's a shame we have to wait until 2017 for the next home series against the Saffers. I wonder if we are still 1 and 2 in the world then.

We don't even play them on their own turf for over 3 years (Dec 2015). In fact we have 15 test matches against the Aussies before we play SA again. Ridiculous scheduling IMHO.

At least there are 4 tests in the next 2 series.

Saffers deserved it, but it could have been different. We were in a dominant position in the first test and completely ballsed it up. If we went 1 up its all very different. Also if we dont drop Amla on 1 in the 3rd test we might well have won that one. Fine margins and all that.

The main difference was the reluctance of the Saffers to give away their wickets.

or put simply beaten by a better side with more depth in their batting and more variety in their bowling

I agree to an extent but alternatively we were in a great position and they had the attack to get people out while 290/3 on a flat pitch while we didnt. Catching is all part of a teams overall performance and is just another area where they were better than us in
