I thought the tip of his thumb was still on the bat handle at the time of impact, but then I'm very very biased. Cracking start from England here, particularly from Steve Finn. If he can carry on like this, hopefully he can cement his place in the team permanently, a bowler as fast as him should always be there.

I thought it had to be a blatant howler with very little doubt for it to be overturned? If that was an England batsman being given out I'd be chucking darts at a photo of Mandela.

I'd be pissed off too tbh. I'm just trying to see what the umpire might have seen that made him give it out in a vein attempt to avoid admitting we've got away with one big time there ;-)
