Dismal performance.
it might look far a better performance once the footy players have finished their match, relatively speaking![]()
Dernbach is one of the worst bowlers ive seen in a long time, cannon fodder

Fuck knows why Onions can't get near the one day squad.
Totall agree with this, surely he has to be ahead of Dernbach and the Irish fella they have called up. Although from a Durham supporter perspective i'm pleased it looks like he'll be spending the summer with us.
I agree that I'd much rather he stayed with us than spent time on the fringes of the England side, but it's puzzling how he's never played more than a handul of ODI's when his one day record for DCCC is very decent and Dernbach and Woakes look short of being international class atm.
In theory both Dernbach and Woakes sound ideal.
One can bowl 90pmh with a lot of varieties and the other is a good county bowler and is very handy with the bat.
I can see you're point on Dernbach, in theory he's quite a rare breed in this country, but the fact is he isn't good enough at what he does to be picked for England at the moment.
I like Woakes, he has potential in every aspect of his game, but there's loads of good county bowlers who are handy with the bat, Napier, Kabir Ali..
At first in the T20 internationals Dernbach did alright but has been worked out. Not good enough really.
Woakes' average for Warwickshire has been very good (atleast it was last season) and if he improves his bowling I can see him making more test squads as we strive to look for that all-rounder.
Can't really see him making it at international level.
I think he is more suited to test cricket, he gets close to the stumps and attempts to bowl wicket to wicket, finding movement away from the batsmen, he does remind me a bit of Hoggard in a way and looks more suited to the red ball. Bit more experience and he would probably be a dangerous test match bowler in the right conditions and his batting is already suited for a lower order international batsman IMO.
The white ball doesn't move around as much and the pitches are laid out to produce high scoring games, when you bowl at 80mph or less you can be cannon fodder in those types of games, look at how few ODI's Hoggard played despite him being a shoe in for the test side for around 5/6 years.
Problem with Dernbach is the same as Mahmood, when he bowls it at 90 mph he's got no idea where it's going to pitch
