Eddie Howe

Easy to say when you’ve already done it and made your money.
I haven’t made money to that extent. I wouldn’t go away because it’d mean giving up everything for the sake of money and you never get that time back. Working away from your family and friends is grim.
Thanks for all the nice comments about EH
Really appreciated..
some nice people on here
Not really sure what the post earlier was all about. I’ve seen 99% of post wishing him a speedy recovery and putting football aside

100% no

I’d never work for a Saudi firm. I’d take any job, no matter if wages were lower, elsewhere.
The conversation that we had then asked “ what about Russia then “? Or a Russian company?
Speak for yourself mate.

There is obviously a third category of people who have ethics and morals and are honest enough to stick to them. I consider myself to be in that category.

I’m not sure you have understood.

Nobody was forcing the former Newcastle fans to follow a terrorist regime.

This wasn’t the case in 1930s Germany.
Genocide is quite bad you know. The nazis did that and arguably Israel is now so where do our morals draw a line? It’s ok to persecute someone if you wear a uniform but not ok if you do it on the sly ?
I’m not defending Saudi but there’s many other countries who are as bad, if not worse but they often get our support.
A lot of folks in Sunderland might have to make that decision in the not to distant future.

I can remember when the plant opened, some people said they would never buy a Japanese car because of the atrocities in ww2 that Japan carried out. There were people alive 40 yrs or so ago who very much lived and remembered that, not so much now.

I think we need to separate individual morals from International Relations. I'm not in a position to decide which countries the UK government is happy to support. I am in a position to decide which countries I support.

A Saudi flag waving mag telling me its OK because "our government sells things to them" is a cop out. Same as "well Britain's history isn't so perfect either".

If as a mag you want to wave Saudi flags and promote their country for a holiday, that's up to you. But you need to own it, and cut the excuses that it's "fine because".

We can only make our own choices. I also want nothing to do with Russia or Israel, or any companies or services they provide.

Obviously there are times when it is out of our control. But as much as I can I avoid anything from dodgy countries, now including America.

The only
reason not to like Eddie Howe is he is the manager of our greatest rivals. He is doing well for them. He is a decent bloke and has got a team that is playing attractive football. Just because we all support Sunderland there is no reason to demonise this bloke. It's just football at the end of the day. Our current boss ticks off similar boxes. Its just a football thing. Bit more money would help but not crucial.

I hope he recovers. I’d imagine he will, most people do and he’ll be getting top care.
No need for people to have to claim he’s a “great bloke” though imo. But now is not the time.

He may have some lasting effects. One of our sopranos had it a few years ago, and her breathing still isn't back to where it was before. Admittedly not so important for a football manager as opposed to a trained classical singer.

I’ve had it myself tbh. Not sure if it’s worse when you’re older?
