Eddie Howe

As much as I can't stand the bloke, he should be the next England manager

Newcastle must be getting itchy trigger fingers with their Saudi riches. They'll get an upgrade eventually.

Howe edges Potter for me. When it comes to English managers, there's no one else if we're being honest.
Isn't specifying 'English managers' the problem? That's what the selection committee did with Southgate. It's clear winning the World Cup or any other major trophy is not the first priority. Rather it's about getting a boring, safe, uninspiring manager much like the like us in the committee to continue keeping us in the mix without rocking the boat.

Not for me. You either want to win or you don't want to win and you do what it takes. That's all that people remember. And that's what we need a manager to do.

Highest scorers in the league after the top 3 marra, you can't deny his teams are good to watch .

Interestingly 23 of the 85 goals were scored against Sheff Utd, Burnley and Luton. This would be Howe's Achilles heel with England. Smash the shite sides and come up short against the top sides. Bottled it v Milan (should have played for a draw and Europa which you could have won) and bottled it in the final v Man Utd. It's all rather underwhelming.

Not sure they bottled the cup final mind , Man United finished 3rd that season and had a far more expensive squad than Newcastle did , it was David v Goliath really .

Howe has beaten Man City , Arsenal , Man United , Chelsea , Spurs , Villa and PSG whilst in charge of the mags so to say he would come up short against the top sides is a bit silly .

He has managed over 600 games and won zero trophies (bar a Championship one). Hand on heart do you think England win anything with him? Is he an improvement on Southgate. Your own fans are critical of him for his loyalty.

You had Europa staring you in the eyes but EH pushed to beat Milan and you ended up bottom. However, in his defence this is the highest profile game of his 600+ game career. How then will he fend in the WC 1/4's?

Personally I hope he stays at the mags because otherwise you may employ a winner and we will never hear the end of it.

Re Man Utd - was it feck David v Golliath. You finished 4 points behind. You had Isaq on the bench man. It was a chance of a first trophy since 1955 and you blew it.

Howe is no more than a sideways move yes man.

Look at his track record of defending the Saudi owners

I dont think England manager is the right role for Eddie Howe tbh. He always looks under so much stress while managing Newcastle but seemed relaxed at Bournemouth for some reason ?.

We should bin the idea of appointing an Englishman and go for Jurgen Klopp as number one target.
Pep wants it though.
