Vince has had a fair few chances at test level, didn’t do much in Australia last time either. Lawrence has been poor but has batted in tougher conditions, given his age it’s probably worth sticking with him in the long term.I think it’s easy to be critical but I think they should have mixed it up slightly more.
Can anyone see hameed getting runs in Oz? I can’t
Sibley did really well over there too and has done a lot better than Dan Lawrence at test level
yeah I’d have picked both them over him personally.

Agree on Hameed. Lions squad will be more interesting as there will probably be a few who will end up playing 4th and 5th test
Crawley and Bess. Utter joke.
Parkinson will end up being our first choice spinner in the next couple of years, maybe even next summer but agree I’m not sure it’s the right tour for him to start playing test cricket. Leach for me plays every testyou’re not wrong with your logic but I just think it’s an ashes tour, just pick what you think is best for those conditions and o think the likes of Vince are a step above
ha aye the team in the 5th test in Australia is mad like
these lads will have faced Parkinson a lot on the nets and both Morgan and root must just not think he’s ready. It’s easy for me to say pick him but we have no idea do we really
Crawley is a good pick, had to go
Id play him too
On what basis? Can’t be form.

not on form in test cricket in England no
I think he can score runs in Australia as it suits his game
Which spinner do they rate? Root seems to be considered the best spinner but barely bowls himselfnot on form in test cricket in England no

him and Pope our hopes, they ain’t joke pics
people talk like there are loads of options
it was him or sibley
based on what?
sorry like there is no chance he is England first choice spinner next summer, they clearly don’t rate him
Ed smith picked him almost every red n white ball squad and he didn’t get near any first choice sides
he’d have gone to Oz if they rated him
Which spinner do they rate? Root seems to be considered the best spinner but barely bowls himself
Well I sure hope so, but I worry that’s what they said about Vince.
I’d be happy with Leach and would have played him all summer however it’s pretty obvious the captain/coach don’t rate him or Bess. If Parkinson could hold a bat he’d have played alreadywell they don’t rate Parkinson do they
I’m not knocking you for rating him or wanting him in the side but there’s no chance he will first choice spinner any time soon
I know it’s a different format but they didn’t even rate hmm enough to pick him over Dawson on a t20 World Cup
he showed some promise
its a good bet like to take
I’m not saying it’s ideal but you can’t say it’s a joke there’s nobody else banging the door down
they have to pick some off potential
rather than just picking highest run scorer like we did with Burns n sibley
as I say I’d play him over hameed and I think they might

Agree on the first bit, I think the second has become something that’s it not however. A bit cult hero esque. He digs in but he’s still firmly a 10the treatment of leach is bizarre
he can bat too

He still has a first class record averaging 13. Played well against Ireland, but so did Jimmy with 82 against India. He can hold a bat yeah, but I think it’s overplayedI think he’s better than that, he batted very well for somerset last game for example got a 50
all I mean is he’s not a bunny
he got 92 against Ireland
also batted a while at old trafford when we nearly got a draw
they’re using it as an excuse not to pick him that’s all

Fully agreed on LivingstoneI can only comment on myelf, but the only reason I ever mention it is because its why England have dropped him, they feel they need more batting depth with Stokes out
I am not trying to say he is a mint batter, just that I dont think its a reason worth dropping him
I mean realistically is Overton gonna get more runs than Leach? maybe but not by a considerable margin
that is my point
I am not one for jumping on bandwagons, as you know, and I usually take the opposite view as I am a twat, but I really would have picked Livingstone over Lawrence
he has something about him, can bowl, can field, first class average nearly 40
and for reserve, not a player in the first XI, he offers a lot more.
I think that is a mistake, and its kind of how Silverwood does it, he is just too safe, which worked initially when we were getting big scores, but he just doesnt react
