Durham vs Surrey - CC Match Thread

I'm a little confused here so someone help me out. It's quite clear the umpires have told Lees to bowl spin at both ends, hence Ackermann is now on. Why is Lees agreeing to that? Surely insist on bowling fast bowlers, bowl a few bouncers and get off for bad light?
I was thinking the exact same, although it doesn't look particularly dark (he says, sitting in a pub beer garden in Blackheatn)

It's dark and the umpires agree hence insisting on spin. I'm just confused why we've put spin on at both ends. It suits Durham to go off now for bad light.
The ONLY thing I can think of is Lees knows the game is gone so just get it over with. I would wholeheartedly disagree with such an approach, but I can't think of any other reason - im with you, id have Potts and Raine sending down bouncer after bouncer, get off and regroup tomorrow

Commentators on the Durham stream were saying the light is fine and they don't know what the umpires are on about, but on this one I'll bow to your local knowledge WHED ;)

It's getting darker to be honest. They must fancy tomorrow off.

I have to say I find it a little amazing that Scott Borthwick hasn't played a FC game all season. Putting him out to pasture was severely premature and harsh. I know his form last season wasn't great, but McKinney, Ackermann, Rhodes and even Robinson haven't exactly set our top 6 alight.

I love Badger but he was absolutely shite with us. Nowhere near good enough for Div 1, regardless of DCCCs struggles

Game over. Well done Surrey. So many questions to be asked of Durham it really is poor and it's very concerning. Will post my thoughts later, so much to question and worry about.
