Durham vs Surrey - CC Match Thread

That Ackermann dismissal was a shocker from the umpire, on the stream you can clearly see a gap between bat/glove and ball hitting the pads

Could have been Durhams day but the dismissals of McKinney and Robinson sum up why we are heading into the bottom 2 barring a very unlikely turnaround.

Gay and Robinson threw their wickets away, no excuse. 3 down at Close would’ve kept us alive and let’s face it, we should’ve achieved it.

Just two comments
McKinney and Robinson appear to have one shared brain cell.
Absolutely mind numbingly stupid
And
Absolute disgraceful umpiring decision to give Ackermann out

What a horrible little clip of McKinney batting against Kishore.

Plenty of work for the batting coach to do here.

He didn't have a shot in his locker to push it for one and get off strike and completely panicked. You could see it coming for about 2 overs. As I said earlier he is still batting like a colt.

That's why I think he'll be off to a County with an effective batting coach.
Not sure he has been picked out as one of the big hopes since a 15 year old at the Bunbury festival and all the perks that go with it. At some stage he has got to work it out for himself hopefully the penny drops. But we have seen quite a few prodigious schoolboy/ colt batsmen at Durham who completely loose their way at 1st class level and can't deal with it. All part if the challenge is suppose.

True you have to work it out for yourself but you can only do that from watching others. I'm convinced that both Rocky and Badger developed by watching Divo from the other end. Not sure there is such a mentor at Durham today.
Sad because Ben has always struck me as a level- headed kid with an equally level-headed father.
