Durham v Worcestershire (h) T20

Have to question releasing Richardson whilst keeping Clark and Burnham.
No doubt we'll have paid up both Richardson and Smith's contracts in full so it made sense to keep them available.Surely either would be a better captain than Poytner with Handscomb as w/k.
Not too bothered about T20, clearly conditions became increasingly more difficult as the night wore on. Not likely to improve for Sunday given the prevailing forecast.

Me and the wife sat in the county stand for the Worcester innings and our first 10 overs then wandered to the members for a cuppa - job done. Waxing lyrical about a professional job, no big excitement for the kids as we’ll just be taking singles and knocking the odd 2. Then watched the middle order get out looking for the glory shots. Surely there’s a lack of leadership somewhere, both on the pitch and in the dressing room.

I went to bet with eight overs left.Knackered and up at four. Happy in the knoweldge of an easy victory. Checked cricinfo as soon as i got up to confirm the win. How the fuck can you lose from that position? Seems almost impossible.

Last night the boundaries were almost at their fullest extent. Slightly shorter around the County Durham Stand and Scoreboard boundaries but the covers were over there. It was obvious that this was a home advantage tactic to restrict Guptil, Wessels, Whiteley etc from going big. Worked a treat. Very small total to knock off, assuming the track was OK. Great start from Short and Steel and the job was done. Just needed to nurdle 1's and 2's on the run in and a very impressive victory was ours. Instead what came next was unbelievable. Batsmen continually trying to hit the ball out the ground, understandable when your under pressure, except there wasn't any. Opened the door for Worcs with Brown, Parnell and Barnard storming through it. Whatever goodwill with part time cricket fans that has been built up this season, around the usual T20 razzmatazz, was completely done away with. A dull game that was lost through total incompetence and negligence.

Can’t argue with that, pretty well summed up.
