Durham v Worcestershire (a) RL cup.

Looks like Essex nailed on to beat Sussex so we will need them to lose v Lancs or we beat Hants to win the group. (I think 🤔)

Yeah if we lose and they win we will have a home QF on Saturday.
If we win we will have a home SF on Tuesday.

If we were to win the SF then the final is two days later....you couldn't make it up.

If the table I’m looking at is correct, Hampshire will still have plenty to play for (third place up for grabs if Lancashire lose).

Another FTECB classic. How does anyone expect people to travel across the country at 2 days notice? And a day nighter for good measure meaning a late finish ffs.

Fuck them, let’s get the bastard won. The way I see it, in a few years time when the 16.4 is fucked off cause everyone realises it’s a load of shite this tournament will come back stronger and our name will be forever engraved on the twat (again).

Well that was a bloody good win that. Have to be honest I was a tad concerned as I thought we started slowly but the wife was ever so relaxed and said we would get close to 300..... I need to listen to her more. Hindsight Clark and Lees got us off to a great start. Lees once again doing the donkey work and Bedders doing what he does best, many home fans were impressed with how he attacked on that wicket, nobody else came close to doing so in such manner. Bowling wise we were excellent, every single one of them and good to see Clark get a wicket. Young Doneathy continues to impress with game time, certainly one to watch. A genuinely good solid all round team effort. Whether we are at home on Saturday or Tuesday, we've done well and we are down to the last 6 now. It's bloody good to see Durham back amongst it after a shit time of things for several years. I've had a lovely day, met some nice Worcestershire supporters who spoke well of Durham and wished us well. A ground I would recommend anyone visiting, we were made to feel very welcome by all. Very much looking forward now to Thursday.

I was there too. Cracking day, gorgeous weather, great view of the game, beautiful ground and surroundings (went for a lovely walk along the River Severn and Cathedral after the game rather than sit in the queue of cars for an hour!). It was a thoroughly absorbing game and a great advert for the 50 over format. The target set by Durham was tantalising but ultimately beyond Worcester’s reach, though if Leach had got stuck in at the end as he initially promised to do, it could have got a bit exciting. Worcester remained in the game long enough to keep the home fans interested until near the end but Durham always looked to have the edge. As you say the home fans were gracious and very few left early. Lees and Bedingham were superb (should move him up the order imo), bowlers all excellent, (I thought Borthwick marshalled his troops very astutely) and the win achieved without Rushy with five overs to spare. Job done!

I've just noticed the final starts at 1pm. It's a ridiculous schedule. Potentially could be traveling away on Tuesday then to Nottingham on Thursday and not getting home until very late. I've got Tues and Thurs off next week just incase

Took us about 40 mins to get out and onto the motorway which wasn't too bad. With regards to our batting order I think Doneathy needs to come in earlier, maybe for Trevaskis but that said we are winning games. Borthwick and Bancroft could do with a confidence boosting innings mind but overall absolutely delighted. Our attitude today was top class, Borthwick had the lads well drilled. Intriguing day ahead on Thursday.
