Durham v Worcestershire [a] C.C. 8/5/26

Deficit of 40, think there’s 8 lads in that dressing room that need to have a long hard look at themselves prior to the second innings starting.

Some big performances needed over what’s left of this game by some big names in my view.

We turned it around at home to Lancashire, we need to do the same again here.
 

Lancashire have just been rolled out for 84 and look likely to lose at home to Middlesex. If we lose this the top of the table will be a hot mess.
 
Didn't Stokes play in the same fixture in 2024, and upset the balance of the team as well? He's not a new ball bowler and England should not be making demands of us to give him a go there. Worcestershire are a promotion rival and we should have selected our best team.

He’s two games out from a century, you can say 6/7 failures but in one of those ‘failures’ he batted for an hour in the second innings against Lancashire and many people remarked that it was very important in the grand scheme of setting up the win.

As an opener, sometimes batting for an hour/surviving time/a spell is worth more than what the run column says.

His current average is 12 less than last season, it’s clear improvement is needed.

Do you want him dropped for Kent? If you don’t, what‘s your criteria?

As for this game, is there any rain around? We’re fast approaching the territory where a draw is probably our best option.
