Durham v Notts T20 £1 match roll call

Its clear of double yellows and just outside of the "residents only" areas which require permits to park.
There is very little space that is covered by an official 'residents only' parking scheme. This can be identified by poles with proper signage. The signs and cones in streets like Lancaster Terrace and Lumley Terrace, to name but a few, are unofficial and are 'organised' by some local residents who feel they have a God-given right to exclude cricket goers from parking. They only appear shortly before the first major event of the year, whether it be the first T20, a concert or an international game. They stay for the rest of the season then disappear until next year. The Council who administer formal parking schemes are investigating.

Seriously they've gone to the effort of getting them massive yellow signs put up?

I park on one of them streets as I knew they weren't enforceable.

Thought it was the council trying to put people off. Mad that's the reason.

we used to always get Parked on Plantagnet Ave which is the last street before the A167 until about a season ago where some bloke i thought was going to have a heart attack from shouting at me, just wasnt worth the hassle or what i thought may have been damage to my car

Chance you should be OK coming into CLS on the A167 from the south, at that time. Depending on just how close you want to be to the ground, how far you want to walk, whether you want to pay or park for free etc...Plenty of people leave their car on Durham Road just off the A167 heading towards CLS town center and walk down to the ground. Its clear of double yellows and just outside of the "residents only" areas which require permits to park.
Where can you park for free? Last time got charged £7. It's put me off going.

I think most car parks in the town centre are free after 6pm
Yes, I normally park up just before 6 pm which gives enough time to get down to the ground. I’m not saying which car park I use as there’s not many spaces and it’s often nearly full 😉

Has anyone else had their car scratched when parking in those streets?
Yes. A while back mind. All panels as well, and needed a full respray. Someone else I know had their tyres let down. I’d rather pay the £5 to park at the ground

I’m going, anyone else ?

Got 3 for my old man. He's buzzing (more at the cheap prices, than the match itself  )

Just on the road, not a carpark. On Durham Rd itself. appreciate it is a "main" road but there are no yellows and there's room for cars to pass. Loads do it
