I was thinking something around that earlier today.

ie international class bowlers would get something out of the pitch, the trouble is not every bowler can be 'international class'.

With regards to the pitch. A good pitch can be 'good' but then deteriorate as the game goes on. The batter can benefit and the bowlers also. So, I'm waiting for tomorrow to see what happenes. There's some talk of a little bit variable bounce and some turn for Drissell. So maybe. And, get Minto on to rough up the pitch for Drissell.

If at the end of tomorrow, Notts are still batting or have hit loads of runs, then I'l agree the pitch was too lifeless.

NB. In earlier years the riverside pitches did too much resulting to a lot of low scoring matches. Maybe it's now gone too far in the opposite direction? Maybe, *shrugs*

Yeah good post this I agree

I am not really saying it’s a great pitch I guess, it’s pretty flat, but I think it kind of highlighted the point Key and co make regarding county cricket that a lot on here don’t want to admit.

On jucy pitches people like Raine n co will take wickets and you will get a result. But you don’t get those pitches in international cricket really. So you need different types of bowlers

If we had 3 bowlers of Carse level we’d win this game for example.

Having said that you do want it to get harder to bat tbf.

I just think when I read people moan about pitches they sometimes miss the point that it’s also partly the bowlers aren’t good enough and can’t move the ball or cause problems without fair assistance

The state of pitches is mainly down to climate. It's well nigh impossible to produce hard bouncy pitches when we don't play domestic cricket in high summer particularly in Northern England. Climate probably also contributes to why genuinely fast bowlers are also so injury prone.
And if we produce turning pitches we run the risk of points sanctions.
 
Wonder if George will do a Matt kunehman and spin them out in the final session as matt did a couple of years back

Can't remember who it was against, Worcester maybe as there was a couple of close finishes that season

It’s another pitch that’s too flat, so little pace in only Carse got something out of it yesterday.

Some slow turn for Drissell but he’s not a top class spinner he’s struggled throughout his career and into his third team.

Hope we win but the draw is far the most likely outcome.
